Анотація

Сьогодні суспільство відчуває значний вплив цифрової революції. Сучасні комп’ютерні технології покращують наше повсякденне існування, але
водночас спрямовують наше життя. Проникнення цифрових рішень пішло далеко за межі простого надання допомоги; дещо несподівано, воно досягло навіть найбільш людських сфер діяльності, таких, зокрема, як здійснення правосуддя.
Чи може, наприклад, вся процедура прийняття юридично значущих рішень бути повністю автоматизованою? Кілька десятиліть тому це запитання здалося б абсолютно неналежним. Але сьогодні маємо визнати, ситуація змінилася докорінно. Беручи вказані аспекти до уваги, представлена стаття пропонує огляд того, як людство досягло цієї точки цифровування, після чого автори роблять спробу визначити потенційні загрози, які приховує в собі автоматизація правосуддя.
Однак ця стаття не повертається у часі аж до Antikythera механізму1, про конструкцію якого відомо дуже мало; пропонується оглянути розвиток упродовж останніх століть і завершити сьогоденням.
